Grammy-winning recording artist and producer RAC returns today with the release of his highly anticipated EP, “YOU”. One of the pioneers in NFT space, RAC continues to push the boundaries and lead a massive paradigm shift in the music industry.
The 5-track project includes features from Jonas Bjerre and Sulene, and comes along with the entire NFT series in collaboration with Andrés Reisinger. The collaborators teamed up once again after initially joining forces on RAC’s third studio album “BOY” and the record setting “Elephant Dreams” NFT series in late 2020
Talking about the new project, RAC reveals: “It’s about how past relationships linger in our minds and physical spaces. This is the first release of its kind. An EP released with a tokenized counterpart. It’s in experiment in releasing a cohesive body of work in 2021. Think of it as the EP is the main quest, but there’s tons of side quests and hidden treasures for those that look a bit deeper. It’s structured as 8 objects that remind us of another time. I wrote 8 new songs to fit every one of the 8 objects in addition to the 5 tracks on the EP. They will only exist in NFT format. One of the objects features a new poem written and handwritten specifically for this by Arch Hades.”
On the NFT series, RAC says: “This project is about objects left behind from past relationships, completely mundane, but intensely personal. You don’t wanna get rid of them, because then you’d have to move on. They’ve clearly moved on, but you still keep them around. It’s sad that it ended, but you are glad that it happened, and these objects keep that distant memory alive. “
