Australian indie folk duo Hollow Coves (Ryan Henderson and Matt Carins) joined forces with US folk singer/songwriter Priscilla Ahn for their latest single, “Lonely Nights,” a song that started as a lament for home while the duo was on tour in Europe, but has since taken on a whole new meaning.
Speaking about the collaboration, the band reveals: “When we first wrote ‘Lonely Nights,’ we were on tour in Europe and missing home. We were reminiscing on times spent with friends and lamenting missing events. Now I can’t help but think that this is a feeling that so many people would have experienced, and may still be experiencing, through the COVID lockdowns and times of isolation. I hope this song is somehow able to give people a sense of peace and hope for the future.”
“Lonely Nights” is accompanied by a music video that was shot on 16MM Bolex in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, a gorgeous and quiet fishing village turned premier surfing destination that has been home to the Olympus National Surfing Circuit Competition. The images evoke a sense of wanderlust and a hopeful look to future adventures.
