Dermot Kennedy Reaches Number One in UK and Irish Charts With Debut Album “Without Fear”

Global star on-the-rise Dermot Kennedy hits the number one spot in Official UK and Irish Charts with his long-awaited debut album ‘WITHOUT FEAR’, available now via all DSPs.

The record is the first debut album by an Irish artist to hit the top spot in the UK for nineteen years and as well selling strongly around the globe including the US, Germany and France, has incredibly sold more records than the entirety of the Top 10 combined in the Irish Charts and is the biggest Week 1 of the year, outselling Lewis Capaldi. Latest single ‘Outnumbered’ also reaches its highest spot yet in the UK with a position of number eight as well as going Quadruple Platinum in Ireland. The single sat on the BBC Radio 1 playlist for an astounding 10 weeks, one of the longest periods of any single in 2019 to date and has topped over 70 million streams alone. Dermot also performed the track on The Jonathan Ross Show this past Saturday night to rapturous praise.

Last single ‘Power Over Me’ which reached #1 in the airplay charts in France, Germany and Belgium and also reached Quadruple Platinum in Ireland, Platinum in the Netherlands and Switzerland and Gold in Canada. In total Dermot is rapidly approaching a billion streams worldwide and has had strong support from the likes of Spotify, Amazon and Apple Music. Dermot was also named as YouTube Music’s first ever multi territory (US & UK) Artist On The Rise in July this year, after he first appeared in YouTube Music’s inaugural Ones To Watch list in Nov 2018.

The highly-anticipated record arrives ahead of the singer’s biggest run of tour dates yet, including two sold out dates at London’s Eventim Apollo on December 2nd and 3rd and finishing with his biggest ever headline shows at Dublin’s 3Arena on December 22nd and 23rd; culminating with a total 120,000 tickets sold across his European dates this autumn alone.
