Ashe – Ashlyn

LA-based singer/songwriter Ashe has released her highly anticipated full-length debut album, Ashlyn. Executive-produced by Ashe and Leroy “Big Taste” Clampitt, Ashlyn features her brand new songs, as well as earlier releases “Save Myself”, “Till Forever Falls Apart” featuring FINNEAS, Niall Horan collaboration “Moral of the Story” and the heartbreaking “Ryne’s Song”, in which she commemorates her late brother.

Speaking about the album, Ashe shares: “Ashlyn is deeply reflective and honest, full of stories of my experiences with fear and pain and turning those hard things into joy and independence. I’m an experiential writer and there was no way I was going to make an album that didn’t address my personal journey, from my brother’s death this last year to my own experiences with emotional abuse. I think you have to be vulnerable to create something really great and I believe I did that. Writing this album was also an opportunity to show that I’m not just a songwriter and a singer but a producer and a musician with a very clear vision for my art.”

She adds: “The whole thing I wrote at a time when my life was changing. I was being really validated as an artist and as a writer. I felt like I could write absolutely anything I wanted to. The world sort of said, ‘Hey, you got really vulnerable and honest with us and we want more of it.’ And that validation was incredibly moving to my confidence. I’m the same girl, but I speak my mind a lot more and I don’t really question myself as much, which I think makes a really great artist. The best artists are the ones who aren’t looking for anyone to tell you, what do you think? Or like, is the song good? I don’t care if you think it’s good or not. That’s been really liberating.”
