Diplo’s Higher Ground EP is out today via Mad Decent—listen here. The new project of house-inspired tracks features a collaboration with house staple Blond:ish, the project from Montreal based Vivie-Ann Bakos, plus guest appearances from Nigerian singer Kah-Lo and previous collaborator and Swedish pop sensation Tove Lo.
Previously released tracks include “Hold You Tight,” which Gorilla vs. Bear calls “a haunting late-night vintage house anthem” and “Bubble Up” which Billboard says “bumps like a factory rave in the deep jungle.”
Higher Ground follows several new milestones for the global producer including the release of the debut album from LSD, Diplo’s supergroup with Sia and Labrinth, and the unveiling of his first country single with Cam ahead of a Stagecoach play. Additionally, Diplo performed two weekends at Coachella where he packed the Sahara tent with a deep-house focused set and Higher Ground themed stage production. In February, Diplo released his Europa EP, which assembled Europe’s finest rising artists.
Diplo, born Thomas Wesley Pentz, is one of the most dynamic forces in music today under his own name, as well as a member of the now legendary Major Lazer, LSD with Sia and Labrinth—whose first four singles have tallied nearly a billion streams, and Silk City with Mark Ronson—whose track “Electricity” with Dua Lipa topped charts worldwide and won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. As the world’s most in-demand producer, Diplo has worked with artists as disparate as Beyoncé, Bad Bunny and Turnstile. Since releasing his California EP last year, Diplo returns in 2019 with Europa and Higher Ground. He continues to tour the world over with forthcoming performances at Glastonbury, Field Day and many more.
