Jessie J is making her grand return. Three years after dropping 2014’s “Sweet Talker,” the singer is about to release the long-awaited follow-up “R.O.S.E.” (which stands for “Realisations, Obsessions, Sex and Empowerment.”) And we are feeling it!
Since the official album announcement in mid-September, the singer-songwriter extraordinaire dropped three singles: “Real Deal,” “Think About That”, and the brand-new track “Not My Ex.”. Tonight (October 27th) during her tour’s Los Angeles stop at the iconic Troubadour, the multiplatinum-selling artist brought the house to its feet. Jessie has played many sold out shows so far, beginning on October 8 in Birmingham, UK with upcoming tour dates through October 28 in San Francisco, CA and December 1st in Shenzhen, China.
Supported by Stanaj and De’Wayne Jackson, Jessie J sang banger after banger for an exhilarating live set. The show was completely sold out – packed wall-to-wall. Jessie J took the spotlight at about 9p.m. and was a fireball of energy until just 11 p.m. The singer gave her all to each song. This intimate performance introduced fans to new songs and featured older favorites like “Price Tag,” “Nobody’s Perfect,” “Domino” and “Bang Bang”, reminding a captivated audience why she has been so successful so far.
Jessie J is many things, but above all, she is authentic and not afraid to be vulnerable. And it’s beyond empowering! She made us laugh and cry. She stunned the audience with her effortless runs and powerful voice, along with the perfect harmonies. And did I mention that she is absolutely hilarious? Music is the love of her life and everyone can feel it. The stage is her home, it’s where she bares her heart, and where all of us can feel her emotions and thoughts. When you hear her voice, you hear an old soul. Jessie J is a true entertainer overall, and probably one of the most real and humble music artists in the game. If you ever have an opportunity to hear her live, do it, and you will be a fan forever.
